Concerts and Visits
Its been a busy few weeks here in NY. Though who am I kidding, its always a busy time here in NY. I saw The Helio Sequence at The Bowery Ballroom. It was a great show. Their music is smooth, but rocking and uplifting. And their drummer is great to watch, moves sort of like fluid drumming robot. At the show I ran into Jeff and Drew, who I had planned on going to see Hot Chip with my sister. A few weeks before that I saw Deer Tick which is a crazy good rock-a-billy band (more rock then billy). I also saw Dan's band, Feel It Robot, play at Pianos, where I ran into Jen and a bunch of other ex-pat Mainers. I had a great visit from summer by the way, she flew in from Maine, and we spent much of the weekend just wandering (mostly around the LES), eating, and shopping. As I mentioned earlier I saw Hot Chip at Terminal 5. Went with Summer, Kierie, Jeff, Drew, and Jeff's mom (still rocking!).
I'd also like to say Happy Birthday to my grandmother Marion. I think she's 88! I missed sending her a birthday card, and still haven't called her for her birthday... which makes me pretty much the worst grandson ever, but I am thinking about you, and I'll see you soon!
